Instagram Reels are here to stay. That’s for sure. I know a lot of business owners feel similarly that “wow, now I have one more thing to add to my to-do-list!” But, I’m here to provide you with 3 reel ideas you can make today so that you have content to share! (Also there may or may not be a freebie at the end of this post with 25 days of reel ideas you can download) 🤭
1. Introduce yourself 👋
This seems scary for a lot of small businesses, but it doesn’t have to be! You aren’t telling the world your whole life story people! You are giving your audience something to relate to. Whether that be that you are a busy mom, a plant lover, or have a diet coke obsession–share something that makes the face behind your business a little more personal.
2. Share a before and after 🙌
This is a great example of a reel you can make without showing your face on camera! If you make a product that you sell, take a short clip of the materials before and then another short clip of the finished product. If you sell home decor, show a space before and after you style it with your products. If you are a hairdresser, show a before and after of a client’s new hairstyle. Photographers, show an image before and after edits! This one can be fun, and generally, audiences really enjoy it!
3. Share a tip about how to use your product or service 👀
Now, I know what you might be thinking . . . Annika, why do I need to share how to use my product or service? Even if you sell something simple such as a candle. Perhaps there is a certain technique to burning that candle so that it lasts longer (for example trim the wicks). This will leave your customers with better results and a better experience so they come back time and time again AND refer your business to all their friends. Another idea for a service-based business might be three tips to prep for your appointment or session.
What do you think? Are you off to the races with Instagram Reels or hanging back trying to figure them out? My biggest advice when it comes to Instagram Reels is have fun with it! Show up for your audience and don’t take yourself too seriously.
